Streaming

> teknologi yang mampu mengompresi atau menyusutkan ukuran file audio dan video agar mudah ditransfer melalui jaringan internet. Pentransferan file audio dan video tersebut dilakukan secara “stream” alias terus-menerus. Dari sudut pandang prosesnya, straming berarti sebuah teknologi pengiriman file dari server ke client melalui jaringan packed based semisal internet. File tersebut berupa serangkaian paket time stamped yang disebut stream.

 

URL

> singkatan dari Uniform Resource Locator. Alamat standar yang menunjukan lokasi resource sebuah dokumen di internet. Misalnya URL untuk file yang ditampilkan pada halaman sebuah website/blog adalah http://www.dfian.com . URL pertama kali diperkenalkan oleh Tim Berners-Lee untuk digunakan pada WWW. Format URL secara detail dideskripsikan pada standar Internet RFC 3986.

Banner

> salah satu bentuk iklan yang diletakan pada halaman sebuah wesite/blog. Bentuk tampilan banner beraga, berupa gambar, teks ataupun animasi. Ketentuan banner tersebut dapat berupa isi banner, ukuran file, ukuran banner (panjang dan lebar).

 

Tablet PC

> sebuah mobile komputer yang sangat fleksibel. Layar sentuhnya atau teknologi digitizing tablet-nya membuat para pengguna menggunakan touch maupun stylus pen atau pena digital daripada menggunakan keyboard dan mouse. Pengguna dapat memasukan teks dengan menggunakan teknologi handwriting recognition, speech recognition, on-screen virtual keyboard atau keyboard biasa (jika disediakan).

 

GPS

> singkatan dari Global Posititioning System. Sistem navigasi yang menggunakan 24 satelit MEO (Medium Earth Orbit atau Middle Earth Orbit) yang mengelilingi bumi dan penerima-penerima di bumi. Satelit GPS secara terus menerus mengirimkan sinyal radio digital yang mengandung data lokasi satelit dan waktu pada penerima yang berhubungan. Satelit GPS dilengkapi dengan dengan jam atom dengan  ketepatan satu per satu juta detik. Dengan mengetahui posisi satelit, penerima mengetahui bahwa satelit terletak pada posisi tertentu pada permukaan bola imaginer yang berpusat pada satelit.

 

CMS

> singkatan dari Content Management System. Sekumpulan tool yang didesain untuk membuat, memodifikasi informasi dari sebuah website/blog. Saat ini banyak aplikasi CMS yang disediakan secara gratis, seperti Mambo, Joomla, WordPress dan lainnya.

 

Wimax

> singkatan dari Worlwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. Merupakan teknologi akses nirkabel pita lebar yang memiliki kecepatan akses tinggi dengan jangkauan luas. Kecepatan yang dihantarkan mencapai 75 Mbps.

FPS

> singkatan dari frame per second. Yakni jumlah bingkai gambar/frame yang ditunjukan dalam setiap detik. Makin besar angka fps, akan menghasilkan video dengan pergerakan yang semakin halus.

 

Pixel

> merupakan suatu unit warna terkecil yang membentuk sebuah gambar digital. Hal ini juga berkaitan dengan resolusi gambar. Jadi semakin tinggi tingkat pixel suatu gambar maka gambar yang dihasilkan akan semakin tajam.

PDA

> singkatan dari Personal Digital Assistant. Selain sebagai alat komunikasi bergerak juga memiliki fungsi mengatur berbagai macam informasi personal yang mencakup database nama dan alamat, agenda kerja, catatan, dsb. PDA biasanya menggunakan stylus pen ataupun keyboard kecil sebagai media inputnya atau untuk mengakses menu-menunya.

Streaming

> Technology capable of compressing or shrinking the size of audio and video files to be easily transferred through the Internet. Audio and video file transfer is done in a “stream” aka constantly. From the standpoint of the process, straming means a transmission technology file from server to client via packed-based network such as the Internet. The file is a series of time stamped packets are called streams.

 

URL

> Stands for Uniform Resource Locator. Default address of a document showing the location of resources on the internet. For example the URL for the file displayed in the pages of a website / blog is http://www.dfian.com. URL was first introduced by Tim Berners-Lee for use on the WWW. URL format is described in detail in the Internet standard RFC 3986.

 

Banner

> One form of advertising is placed on the pages of a wesite / blog. Beraga banner display form, the form of images, text or animation. Terms may include the contents of the banner banners, file size, banner size (length and width).

 

Tablet PC

> A mobile computer that is very flexible. Touch screen or digitizing tablet technology makes its users use the touch pen or stylus or digital pen instead of using a keyboard and mouse. Users can enter text using handwriting recognition technology, speech recognition, on-screen virtual keyboard or a regular keyboard (if provided).

 

GPS

> Stands for Global System Posititioning. Navigation system that uses 24 satellites MEO (Medium Earth Orbit or Middle Earth Orbit) which surrounds the earth and the recipients of the earth. GPS satellites continuously transmit digital radio signals containing satellite location data and time corresponding to the recipient. GPS satellites are equipped with the atomic clock with a precision of one per one million seconds. By knowing the position of the satellite, the receiver knows that the satellite is located at a certain position on the surface of the imaginary sphere centered on the satellite.

 

CMS

> Stands for Content Management System. A set of tools designed to create, modify information from a website / blog. Today many CMS applications are provided free of charge, such as Mambo, Joomla, WordPress and others.

 

Wimax

> Stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. Is a broadband wireless access technology that has a high-speed access with a wide range. Delivered speeds reaching 75 Mbps.

 

FPS

> Stands for frames per second. Namely the number of image frames / frames shown per second. The greater the fps rate, will produce a video with a more subtle movements.

 

Pixel

> Is the smallest unit of color that make up a digital image. It is also related to the resolution of the image. So the higher the level of an image pixel then the resulting image will be sharper.

 

PDA

> Stands for Personal Digital Assistant. Apart from being a mobile communications device also has a function to set a wide range of personal information including name and address database, agenda, notes, etc.. PDAs typically use a stylus pen or keyboard input or a small as a medium to access the menus.
